Thomas Tuchel was always going to do it in his own way – and his first team certainly shows that the German will not always comply with the wishes of the fans of England.

His predecessor, at least on a provisional basis, Lee Carsley experienced, potentially opening the way to Tuchel to select a young and fascinating team. But, instead, the The former Chelsea boss opted for the experience on young people.

We must warn this by stressing that some of the calls are by necessity, and simply connect gaps due to a long list of injuries that deprived the new manager of several essential players.

The tastes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, John Stones, Kobbie Mainoo and Bukayo Saka would surely have been involved if they were in good shape.

Here we examine some of Tuchel’s surprising decisions.

Goalkeepers

Nothing bad with the names called but four goalkeepers do not seem necessary. James Trafford is a welcome inclusion given his form for the Burnley championship thieves.

Defense

Everton Jarrad Branthwaite’s half-center is considered one of the best young central centers in the Premier League.

For all Everton’s problems, although they seem to relieve David Moyes, Branthwaite was a lighthouse for Toffees fans.

Instead, Tuchel opted for Dan Burn. Burn is a solid pro and occurs on a coherent basis for Newcastle every week, but it is two months less from its 33rd anniversary.

Kyle Walker was also included despite a scorching first half of the season in Manchester City. He has been performing regularly since he joined AC Milan, but it seems to be another regressive selection in front of Djed Spence de Tottenham, who can also play in the two rear roles.

The positive is the call of Myles Lewis-Skelly. The teenager was an out-of-competition point for Arsenal this season and, hopefully, he can be the answer to the long-standing problems of the three lions on the left rear.

Midfielder

The revealing inclusion is that of Jordan Henderson. It was thought that England had left the former Liverpool captain who is now playing for Ajax after a short lace in Saudi Arabia. But the 34 -year -old man received a sign of Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace and Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid.

This seems a surprise given the form of Wharton for Palace in the Premier League while Gallagher was excellent against Real Madrid In the Champions League Tuesday evening.

Morgan Gibbs-White, a key man from the remarkable season of Nottingham Forest, also lacks.

Attack

Less surprises here, even if the absence of Ollie Watkins is due to an injury he suffered for Aston Villa against Club Brugge on Wednesday evening.

Marcus Rashford has sparkled since his departure from Manchester United for Villa, but Phil Foden went in the other direction and can be lucky to be included.

Saka’s injury paved the way for Ethan Nwaneri to emerge as a real star in Arsenal. Despite his recent performances, however, he did not do enough to convince Tuchel that he deserves a place.
