The passengers of an American Airlines flight were evacuated to the Tarmac of an airport in Colorado while a fire broke out on the plane, sending smoke which escapes in the air.

Images of the evacuation have shown that passengers are huddled on the wing of the Boeing airliner, some outfit bags, with flames burning near the bottom of the aircraft.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States said that passengers used inflatable blades to reach the ground safely at Denver International Airport. The agency said it would investigate the cause of the incident.

There was no report of serious injuries, although the airport later confirmed that 12 people were transported to hospital for minor injuries.

The flight took off from Colorado Springs nearby and was on the way to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in Texas, FAA said in a press release at the BBC.

The plane broke down to Denver around 5:15 p.m. local time (23:15 GMT) after the crew reported “engine vibrations,” said FAA.

After the flight landed, he caught fire during a taxis on the tarmac at the airport.

He said the plane was a Boeing 737-800 and had a “engine related problem”.

The smoke and flames were visible from various doors to the airport, according to the spokesperson for Michael Konopasek airport. He said the fire was sprayed and that he did not led to other flights.

Some of them inside the airport have published videos on social networks showing that the passengers of the plane walking towards the edge of the wing while large clouds of black smoke filled the air.

The field crew can be seen rushing towards the wing while pushing scales.

The video has shown active flames under the right engine of the plane while an infacuating blade appeared at the rear door of the aircraft.

The incident comes after a recent series of high -level accidents in North America has raised concerns about air security.

A fatal accident in Washington DC left 67 dead when a regional jet of American Airlines collided in the air with a Black Hawk helicopter of the American army. The accident of the American capital led to questions about the shortages of air traffic controller and their workloads.

The administration of American president Donald Trump also dismissed hundreds of FAA probation workers in the government’s economy efforts.

The layoffs occurred for weeks after the fatal accident of DC.

FAA licensed employees included maintenance mechanisms, environmental compliance workers and technical assistants.

Trump pushed to reduce public spending with the technological billionaire Elon Musk was heading for efforts within the framework of the Ministry of Government efficiency (DOGE).
