
Brazilian police said on Sunday that they had arrested two people in connection with a plot to bomb the mega-concert of Lady Gaga in Rio de Janeiro.
Rio civil police said that with the Ministry of Justice, he “prevented a bomb crisis that would have taken place during the Lady Gaga concert in Copacabana” on Saturday evening.
The officials said that the huge free concert of the superstar on the beach, his first concert in Brazil Since 2012, has attracted up to two million people.
Writing on X, Rio police said that they had arrested an adult who was “responsible for the plot” as well as a teenager of the operation called “Fake Monster” – a reference to the name of the pet of the diva Pop for her fans, “Little Monsters”.
He said they had recruited people online to “conduct attacks using improvised explosives” and Molotov cocktails as “a collective challenge” in order to “gain notoriety on social networks”.
Police added that the group behind the presumed intrigue “spread the speech of hatred” and promoted radicalization and online self -control.
The police made raids in the state of Rio de Janeiro as well as in the states of Sao Paulo, Rio Grande Do Sul and Mato Grosso.
“The police acted silently and without creating panic … We acted surgically to prevent the crime from happening,” said Felipe Curi of the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro in a statement.
‘Frightened saïr’
Lady Gaga’s concert was the second show to a million people on Copacabana Beach in a year after a huge concert last year by Madonna.
Security was tight, with some 5,000 officers, drones and surveillance and facial recognition cameras deployed.
Fans of the 39 -year -old star reacted with a shock to the news of the intrigue in defeating.

Writing on the same account, a fan said that he was “frightened by her (GAGA) safely”.
Lady Gaga thanked her fans in Brazil on social networks on Sunday for “the biggest crowd for any woman in history”.
“Your heart shines so brilliant, your culture is so vibrant and special, I hope you know how grateful I am to have shared this historic moment with you,” she posted on X, formerly Twitter.
The concert was part of a Rio strategy to organize mega-concerts in May to stimulate tourism during what is considered the low season.
Throughout the week, Gaga fans had flocked for Rio, a city famous for its annual Carnival This attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists from around the world.
Mayor Eduardo Paes also suggested that he planned to bring the Irish rock group U2, although no date has been given.
Lady Gaga had launched her perched spectacle over two meters (6.5 feet) above the stage in a massive scarlet hoop dress which opened to reveal a vertical cage from which her dancers left an interpretation of her 2011 “Bloody Mary” song.
“Brazil, I missed me so much,” shouted the pop star, who played several songs from her latest album, “Mayhem”, as well as favorites of his entire career.
