Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola admits that he only regrets the last 25 minutes of 5-1 defeat against Arsenal.

The Premier League champions were dismantled in northern London, late after a few seconds thanks to Martin Odegaard’s strike.

Erling Haaland leveled in the second half, but a wave of strikes from the local team put Guardiola’s men at the sword.

Despite the heavy defeat, the Spaniard admits that most of the game was positive for his team.

He said, “I only regret the last 25 minutes, we forgot to do what we have to do, what we did for 65/70 minutes. Of course, it is a difficult game from this stadium, against this team in the first minutes, it happened several times this season.

“But after 10/15 minutes, I think we took the match and played really, really, really, really good and we are there after 1-1 and a good time, we spend the transition with Omar [Marmoush] and a deviation and the third goal.

“But after that, we then continued to do what you have to do in terms of defensive and [be a] A little more patient. And when you play this way, they can run and of course 3-1, they are comfortable, it’s more difficult. I regret the last 15/20 minutes, the rest was a very good match for our team. It is difficult to understand when you see the result, but it is my feeling.

“It happened all season, we give too much, we know that it cannot happen, it happened. But we reacted very well and we played with the personality and we defended so well, then with the ball, we were a threat but unfortunately after the second, again, we had the momentum. For deviation and in other situations, we have conceded the objectives.

“You have to overcome [it]You cannot lose control, it’s 90/95 minutes. You cannot finish in the way we played, we could have scored three more, but the team must be stable, whatever what happened. “”

John Stones has been strongly involved in many poor errors committed in the rear by city, and the English international offered his excuses for fans.

He added: “To bring us back after half-time, there was a great feeling and a good situation to concede after that of the deviation of me or a little luck.

“It’s difficult when there is an overload in the back, and you have a second decision to go out and they were lucky on that one.

“I could have stayed more square, I should look back it. We cannot let these situations go up on us.

“We stopped doing the things we wanted. Difficult for me to put words.

“Many different things that I did not understand why we do not take results.

“The passion is there, the training and everyone has the right intention.

“We have not arrived where we are without difficult times and it is through everyone’s career at the moment.

“We all have to stay together, this is a key point that we are not starting to point our fingers.”
