The rejection of investors can look like a dead end, but for many founders, it is only a redirection. This forces them to rethink strategies, refine land and explore alternative funding sources. Shark Tank India 4 judge and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics, Vineeta Singh, knows it first -hand – after having faced more than 100 refusals of investors, she now encourages the founders to see these setbacks as springboard, not obstacles.
Vineeta Singh recently headed to LinkedIn to remind entrepreneurs that investors’ rejection is far from being “the end of the world”. Sharing her own trip, she admitted: “I used to think that investors’ refusals were also the end of the world.”
She cited the example of the ring, a startup which initially had trouble obtaining funding but was then acquired by Amazon for more than a billion dollars. Stressing the importance of persistence, she said: “An investor is not really a no – it is not yet. Investors who say no today can reconsider later as your business is developing. »»
Recognizing that rejection can trigger self -doubt, Vineeta has encouraged the founders to adopt the comments of investors. “There is a lot to learn from these conversations. Comments can highlight gaps, refine your strategy and sometimes even save your business, “she said.
She also reminded entrepreneurs that investors’ capital is not the only way to evolve. “There is customer capital, which makes a business profitable. You can also collect funds with debt, family or friends, ”she added.
According to Vineeta, rejection can sometimes be the best thing that happens to a founder. “This forces you to be profitable and never to abandon,” she noted.
