After the fiasco of the disparity of the prices for the same trip reserved using two different mobiles, now an air passenger reported a gap which left many travelers questioning the reliability of the airport equipment: The same bag, weighed by two different counters, showed two different weights.
The passenger, which relies on the identification of Thewolfofjobstreet, shared a video clip on his Instagram round and wrote: “Chandigarh airport. January 30 25. Around 4:00 p.m., indigo meter. 6th. Same bag. Two meters. Two different weights. Difference of 2.3 kg.
By questioning a possible problem in the system, he added: “Can these machines be easily manipulated?” I hope this is a rare case and a technical problem. I generally felt that my bag was not as heavy as it was showing it, so the lady at the counter asked me to check it on the other belt. And to my surprise, it has shown a different number! These little things break our confidence in the system. I hope this is taken very seriously.
Several users agreed with him and few even underlined similar stories that they had to live.
“It happened with me several times. Glad you are talking about it, ”wrote a user.
Another has commented: “It happened with me and my husband almost 3 times in the past 5 years.”
A user asked why to show it a calibration certificate is not compulsory for these weighing scales? “It is compulsory for any trader using the weighing machine,” added the person.
Another user asked for as a joke: “Ab apna Taraju ⚖️ Leke Chalna Hoga Kya @ indigo.6e”
A user told the harassment she has experienced in a similar case. “I went through this. I traveled 4 airports during the same trip with the same luggage on the way back, there was an increase of 12 kg in total of my whole luggage. 3 items in total. It was just impossible. Forget shopping or add more items than my bags should really have a reduction in weight because things had been eliminated during the trip. Saw alone with a child in a different state and it was completely harassment, ”she added.
