Of course, fans have generally dug this show, but it never seemed to generate the buzz of other Disney +programs, including major disappointments such as Acolyte And Boba Fett’s book. The answer came to me as a vision of strength: quite simply, Skeletal crew is the best thing that has happened in Star Wars since Andor.
Skeleton Crew, Andor, and the future of Star Wars
At first glance, by comparing Skeletal crew And Andor May seem to compare wookies and ewoks. Andor is dark and grainy, reveling in its realism; Skeletal crew is a light gallery centered on children that many have nicknamed Sludge in space. Nevertheless, the two shows share surprisingly similar qualities that Disney The era of the franchise must kiss to succeed.
For example, Skeletal crewas Andor Before that, offers us an autonomous story that does not really require homework (such as watching other programs or films) to understand what is going on. Of course, Andor is a prequel extended to Snape OneBut fans who jumped this film (and first of all, how to dare You) can enjoy the show as an autonomous story of Cassian Andor becoming a rebellious recruit of the cloth. Skeletal crew is even more Autonomous, because it has no direct link with other programs and films and can be appreciated without any difficult questions about Canon.
To better understand why Skeletal crew is the best thing that has happened in Star Wars since AndorIt is worth comparing this new show to another series: Acolyte. This show was a confusing mess due to several flashbacks built around a mystery box, which made the story difficult to followmuch less understanding. In comparison, Skeletal crew is built around a simple and linear story … In this case, a character construction treasure hunt, just like Andor is the study of character creation of a man joining the rebellion.
Speaking of this: Skeletal crewas Andor Before that, has characters who are really convincing in its own right. A large part of the Star Wars content on Disney + is based directly on the inherited characters (such as Kenobi Obi-Wan And Boba Fett’s book) or connections with other major players (The Mandalorian is linked to Luke Skywalker, Ahsoka is linked to the Grand Admiral Thrawn, etc.). Skeletal crew presents really new characters who, like AndorLuthen Rael and Syril Karn give this series his own unique flavor.
Finally, Skeletal crew And Andor Have something more subjective in common: they make Star Wars feel original again. For literal decades, the prequelles and the consequences tried to bite the style of the original trilogy, leaving us a successful franchise which seems determined to tell the same handful of stories over and again to reduce yields. Andor showed us that there was “a solution” of this rut - namely, by telling cool side stories on minor characters – and Skeletal crew proved that this is the best way to tell new stories in a galaxy far, far.
Skeletal crew or not or not to get a second season, but this program nevertheless revealed what a pioneer Andor was really. This last show focused on the types of characters that the films have always ignored, and it quickly became a must for Star Wars fans. That Skeletal crew showed how much the Andor The formula is really, hoping that we get more franchise shows and even films that focus on something other than Jedi, Sith and the Skywalker clan.
