When Namma Metro increased his prices recently, the benefits were rapid and sharp. Daily commuters, in particular students and low -income groups, began to abandon the metro in search of cheaper, but slower alternatives, such as city buses and private vehicles. The cost increase did not come with better services because an infrequent service continues to frustrate runners. Online, the backlash is gaining momentum, residents have publicly published the way in which the increase in prices harms their wallets and waste their time.

Illustrating increasing frustration, a nave that has shared a ventilation of the cost of a typical travel day of Chikkabidarakallu to JP Nagar.

“I had to go to JP Nagar from Chikkabidarakallu. The trip cost me –

House car at the metro station – 70 ₹
Metro from Chikkabidarakallu to RV Road – 80 ₹
Walk from RV Road to destination – 0 ₹ (but took 13 minutes)
Back walking – 13 minutes
Metro back – 80 ₹
Last return Mile – 70 ₹
Total – 300 ₹

If I had led to my house, my cost would have been 250 ₹ without walking, without climbing and descending stairs, without waiting for taxis, “read the post on Reddit.

“Overall, driving your own car saves time and money. This should not be the case with public transport, especially in populated urban centers like Bengaluru,” added the user.

The post quickly touched a sensitive string with a lot.

“Forget the connectivity of the last mile, there is not enough parking space even for both wheels in most metro stations,” said a user.

Another added: “Well said, in the space where they have been allocated to parking, they can build a parking lot on several levels based on the passes, but these MF do not make a preliminary survey of planning or population density and to enter civil work directly and later, we are crying on the shortage of funds, we will increase the price and everything, and our charming government continues to increase prices.”

The conversation also discussed the comfort and accessibility of buses. “We are seriously lacking in a connectivity of the last kilometer in the city,” wrote a user. “Everyone encourages the use of public transport, but no one talks about crowds and discomfort. Our buses (especially the stockings on the ground) are not really comfortable, people over 45 with joint pain and stuff are struggling to take a seat on these buses and not to ignore sudden and narrow alleys. ”
