What are the models and the polar gain of the microphone?
The microphones have what are called polar patterns, which is a sophisticated way of saying directions of his that they collect and reject. Another button that you might see on most microphones is earn. This is the button that adjusts the sensitivity of the microphone. No more gain works better to collect quieter sounds, and you will want to gain less for stronger sounds. Adjust this parameter using the recording software and compare the results to see what seems best. (Some microphones also have automatic feature in their software, where microphone listens and automatically adapts to intensity.)
