Babies born in 2025 will start the next generation – the beta generation.
Following Generation Alpha (2010 to 2024), Beta generation will include a new group of children born between 2025 and 2039.
Australian research firm McCrindle has predicted that Generation Beta will make up 16% of the world’s population by 2035, with many living into the 22nd century.

The research and analysis group, led by demographer and futurist Mark McCrindle, wrote in an article that Generation Beta “represents a crucial chapter in our evolving world.”

“We named them Alpha and Beta to signify not only the new generations, but also the first generations who will be shaped by a totally different world,” McCrindle said.
The Beta generation will face a variety of rapidly changing global factors, such as evolving technologysocietal challenges, sustainability and climate, experts say.
“Children’s DNA doesn’t change, but culture does, and it has a huge impact on how children develop.”
Since Generation Beta will be primarily comprised of younger millennials and older members of Generation Z, their parents will prioritize “adaptability, equality, and environmental awareness in their parenthood” McCrindle predicted.
“This will enable Generation Beta to be more globally focused, more community-focused, and more collaborative than ever before,” the article reads. “Their education will emphasize the importance of innovation, not only for convenience, but also to solve the pressing challenges of their time.”

As artificial intelligence gains popularity and access to technology continues to increase, the digital and physical worlds of Generation Beta will be “seamless,” analysts say.
“The Beta generation will live in a time when AI and automation are fully integrated into daily life, from education and workplaces to health care and entertainment,” McCrindle wrote.
The research group predicts that Generation Beta will likely be the first generation to experience autonomous transportation “at scale”, as well as wearable health technologies and immersive virtual environments as “standard aspects of everyday life”.

“Their formative years will be marked by a greater emphasis on personalization: AI algorithms will tailor their learning, shopping, and social interactions in ways we can only begin to imagine today.”
As Generation Beta children enter a world of “always-on technology,” digital interactions will be essential to social connectionseducation and careers, analysts noted.

“We predict that Generation Beta will embody the balance between hyper-connectivity and self-expression,” McCrindle said. “They will redefine what it means to belong, blending in-person relationships with global digital communities.”
Generational parenting
The fate of Generation Beta children will largely depend on their millennial and Gen Z parents, who welcome technology as a learning tool but are also wary of the risks of overexposure, experts say.
“You can’t change the world, but you can change the way you parent.”
Dr. Michele Borba, an educational psychologist and parenting expert, noted that parents will need to pay attention to what Generation Beta needs to thrive.

“Children’s DNA doesn’t change, but culture does, and that has a huge impact on how children evolve,” California-based Borba said in an interview with Fox News Digital.
“That said, we cannot change the world, but we can change how you are a parent“.

“The first step [for parents] is to recognize the changes that are happening…so that they can ensure that they are raising a strong generation of children who can handle a new world,” she added.
The Beta generation will be a “generation of digital natives”, born into a world where their tasks, their errands and even their homework can be accomplished for them, according to the psychologist.

“Critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication will all be influenced by AI,” Borba predicted.

She suggested that parents teach their Beta generation children to adapt, as areas such as technology and the job market will experience major changes during their lifetime.

The psychologist also stressed the importance of children having enough social interactions, especially if they do not have siblings.
“What is crucial for the well-being of our children these are strong social relationships,” she said.
Social regression has already affected younger generations, Borba warned, leading to shorter attention spans and a fear of taking risks.

For parents raising children of a whole new generation, she continued, it is essential to identify and develop their strengths.

“Find out who your child is,” she advised. “From a young age, figure out what motivates them, not what you want them to become.”
