Daniel Penny lands role at firm to ‘learn the business of investing’: report

Daniel Penny, who was acquitted in December of a homicide by criminal negligence for a strangulation in response to the violent violence of death threats against other horsemen on a New York metro carwould have won a role with an investment company in Silicon Valley to “learn investment activities”.

The free press reported that Penny had been hired by Andreessen Horowitz, after seeing an internal statement in which David Ulevitch, a business partner, confirmed the news.

“He will learn investment activities, and he will work to support our portfolio companies,” Ulevitch wrote in a note to all employees on Tuesday afternoon.

Andreessen Horowitz did not respond to Fox Business’s comments on the issue.

The news comes less than two months after Penny’s acquittal in a large -scale and controversial trial. The prosecutors asked the court to reject the first accusation of manslaughter guilty to avoid a suspended jury, and the jurors finally found Penny not guilty of the slightest charge.

Penny, a 26-year-old maritime veteran and student in architecture, was charged for the death of Subway Chokehold by Jordan Neely, a 30-year-old homeless with a schizophrenia who burst into the train shouting threats to death so that it was at the top of a type of marijuana synthetic known as K2. It happened on May 1, 2023.

The free press reported that the cap spoke of the May 2023 incident in a staff service note.

“I believe, as I know that many of you do it, that Daniel acted courageously in a difficult situation,” said Ulevitch. “He has been acquitted of all accusations. Beyond that, it has always been our policy to assess the whole person and not to judge them for the worst moment of their whole life.”

He also wrote on his vision of the former navy, noting that he could help strengthen the company’s relations with the public security sector and the Ministry of Defense.

More specifically, Penny will work in the practice of the American dynamism of Andreessen Horowitz, who “invests in founders and companies who support national interest”.
