ESPN host Stephen A. Smith, raises speculation about a possible offer for the American presidency in 2028.
During a recent episode of “The Stephen A. Smith Show”, Smith suggested that he could consider entering the political arena.
“The Democratic Party looks so pathetic after this election; I could entertain the race. Run again,” he said.

However, during an interview on “Hannity“Smith has clarified his position, strongly declaring that he does not intend to run.
“My lifestyle is quite charming,” said Smith. “I would not want to spoil this by leading to the presidency of the United States of America. I have no interest, but I was just trying to make a deep point.”

He added that with the Democratic Party in his current divided state and without a clear precursor, a candidate with wide recognition as he could be a competitor.
“I think the Democratic Party, in the state in which they meet, I think someone like me could really win,” said the host “First Take” on Tuesday.

Smith’s popularity led him to receive 2% in the survey, and he thinks he could “certainly” win if he launched a campaign.
In recent months, Smith has become more expressed on political issues, in particular with regard to the debate on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
In a video on his YouTube channel, he criticized the old President Donald Trump’s position On Dei’s initiatives. Smith particularly opposed Trump’s opinion that DEI policies were often used to justify the hiring of people who were not qualified because of their minority status.
During his interview with Hannity, the Bronx, New York, a native also explained his position.
“My problem with the eradication of Dei … it was the explanation that the Trump administration and others gave on this subject. I do not want to hear from being automatically on people who happen to be minorities who are not qualified, “said Smith.
Trump has signed a decree ending many Dei initiatives and has rejected hundreds of government employees involved in work -related work.
Trump also suggested that the standard Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) could have contributed to the recent Washington plane crash, which killed 67 people.
“We must only have the highest standards for those working in our aviation system,” said Trump. “Only the highest ability – you must be the highest intellect – and psychologically higher people have been authorized to qualify for air traffic controllers.”

“It’s something to get rid of it,” said Smith. “This is another thing entirely to articulate and verbalize the position that … all those who were associated with Dei are unskilled individuals.”
