The intense meeting of Wednesday evening at Goodison Park ended with chaos, with a heated altercation leading to four red boxes after the final whistle.

Curtis Jones of Liverpool and Abdoulaye Doucoure d’Everton were both sent following a confrontation at the end of the 2-2 draw.

The tensions degenerated when Doucoure celebrated in front of the supporters of Liverpool visiting shortly after Everton obtained a late equalizer.

The situation quickly took place in a physical altercation involving team players, commissioners and the police.

Slot has also been shown a red card by referee Michael Oliver after shaking his hand with him full time.

Thursday morning, the Premier League initially published a press release which said: “The head coach of Liverpool, Arne Slot was rejected at the end of the Merseyside derby for having used an offensive, insulting or abusive language. “Doucoure will be the next Everton meeting in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, while Jones is suspended for the first of Liverpool matchweek games, against Wolverhampton Wanderers.”

After the match, Slot was visibly frustrated and engaged in a animated discussion with the officials.

According to a reading of expert lips, Slot approached Oliver after the final whistle and said: “Big game.”

As they shook hands, Slot seemed to be slightly oliver before the referee quickly produced a red card. The Dutchman then replied: “Of course, do you give me a red for that? I will check it for later. Me and you?

Captain of Liverpool, Virgil Van Dijk, also confronted the referee, declaring: “Hey, Michael, it was not a traction. Michael is not personal.

A more in -depth analysis captured Van Dijk urging his teammates to leave the scene, saying: “Come on, hey go … come on.” He then reiterated to Oliver that it was “nothing personal”.
