
King Charles III meets Rona Graft to her 100th birthday

Rona Grafton was treated to a rare greeting in person of King Charles III On its 100th birthday on Thursday, February 13.
Charles, 76, presented him with a birthday card during his visit to Middlesbrough, England. In a videopublished via social media by the Daily mailRoyal Editor, Rebecca English, Charles and his wife, Queen Camillaapproached Grafton during a Walkabout.
Charles can be seen in the process of shaking the grafton hand and presenting a card to him before asking what day his birthday was.
“Today!” He repeated with enthusiasm.
The meeting with Charles was a total surprise for Grafton, according to BBC NewsWho reported that the visit had been organized by the local council and the Buckingham palace.
The tradition of sending cards from the 100th anniversary dates back to 1917, when King George V sent telegrams for the first time to centenarians.
According to the official website of the British government, members of the British public can receive cards from the king and the queen to celebrate their 100th and 105th birthdays, as well as every year.
In addition, couples celebrating their 60th, 65th and 70th birthdays (and each following year) are also entitled to a special card.
About 1.3 million birthday cards were sent to people in the United Kingdom, kingdoms and foreign territories during the 70-year reign of Queen Elizabeth II, People reported.
Meanwhile, Camilla tested her table-Tennis skills during the visit on Thursday.
The queen was photographed by playing with Alesha Hussain, 15, and Kaleb Audsun, 14.
“She was good, I didn’t know she loved table tennis,” said Alesha BBC News.
Kaleb told the point of sale: “It was good, it was a new experience because I have never seen the royal family before.”
