Liverpool showed their resilience under Arne Slot as they came from behind to beat Leicester 3-1 in a foggy Premier League clash at Anfield.

Despite conceding an early goal, the Reds dominated proceedings and eventually secured a comfortable victory thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah.

The match started in dramatic fashion, with Leicester taking an unexpected lead just six minutes later.

Stephy Mavididi burst down the left flank and delivered a low cross into the box. Jordan Ayew held off Andrew Robertson before firing into the bottom corner, giving Alisson no chance.

Liverpool responded with pressure, dictating the play and their fullbacks, Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, were heavily involved, launching dangerous crosses into the box.

Robertson almost equalized in the 24th minute when his header from an Alexander-Arnold shot hit the post. Moments later, Salah’s effort also clipped the woodwork, adding to the hosts’ frustration.

However, Liverpool’s persistence paid off just before half-time. Alexis Mac Allister, who had an excellent game in midfield, delivered a simple forward pass to Cody Gakpo.

The Dutch striker fired a sublime shot from the edge of the box into the top corner, leveling the score at 1-1.

The second half resumed with Liverpool picking up where they left off. Just four minutes after the restart, Curtis Jones gave the Reds the lead.

Salah and Mac Allister combined on the right wing, the latter delivering a low cross into the box. Jones was perfectly positioned to guide the ball past Leicester goalkeeper Stolarczyk with his first touch.

Leicester struggled to regain their composure and their lack of attacking threat was evident.

The Foxes failed to register a single shot in the second half, allowing Liverpool to remain in control.

The hosts continued to press for a third goal, with Salah forcing a smart save from Stolarczyk in the 79th minute.

Liverpool finally sealed the victory in the 82nd minute, with Salah once again at the center of the action.

Gakpo’s pass found the Egyptian on the right wing. Salah made his way into the box, feinting at defenders before curling a mark into the far corner.

This victory strengthens Liverpool’s position at the top of the table, especially since Chelsea dropped points earlier.
