Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca said his team could play differently and hit Arsenal on the break on Sunday.
The Maresca team was detained at the halftime of their victory in the conference league Copenhagen Thursday eveningBecause they failed to have a single effort to the goal despite dominating the ball.
Some supporters have also been frustrated by the approach of the Premier League team against Leicester, but Maresca thinks they can be more dynamic against Arsenal.
“The intention will be that (to control the ball),” he said. “And if we are capable or not, depends a lot on the opponent.
“They just told me that Pedro Neto (against Copenhagen) had sprint at 90 minutes. The reason is that we were sitting on the edge of our box.
“So, if we plan the match (against Arsenal) sitting back and wait, sure that our attackers and our wingers will make 20 sprints for 60, 70 minutes.
“When you play most of your game in the opposite side, there is no space to make this kind of sprint.
“Our plan is to control the game, but Arsenal is a team that will support high and try to be aggressive, and we will probably have more space to attack behind.”
Maresca confirmed that Robert Sanchez should start with the purpose of the rest of the Premier League season, despite Filip Jorgensen against Copenhagen.
“I think Robert needed a few days off or at least to rest mentally,” said Maresca. “He’s back and I hope we are not going to change until the end (of the season).”
