The low -budget drama that won Big to Oscars this year finally streams. Tomorrow, you can see for yourself what has captivated the Anora Academy, the film being available to broadcast at home Hulu.
Compart to an update from the 21st century Rom-Com Women’s Rom-Com in the 80s, The Dark Fairy Tale tells the story of a New York sex worker (played by Mikey Madison) who dies with Vanya, the son of a Russian oligarch (Mark Eydelshteyn). The pair is quickly swept away in a swirling romance which sees them making the knot in Las Vegas. Their marital happiness is short -lived, however, when the two newlyweds are met with the anger of Vanya’s parents about the case.
Nominated for six Oscars, the film collected an impressive five Oscars earlier this month, including the best film, the best director of Sean Baker, the best actress for Mikey Madison, the best editing and the best original script.
