DGCA pulls up Air India for violating flight duty norms on UK flights

The Aviation regulator of India has raised Air India during the violations of the flight time, issuing a notice of justification to the carrier belonging to Tata after finding raped security standards on the transcontinental flights from Bengaluru to London.

According to an opinion issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the violations were discovered during occasional verifications on Air India AI133 flights operating from Bengaluru to London on May 16 and 17. In both cases, the crew flight time exceeded the 10 -hour limit.

“… During a cashier in cash, it was observed that the director responsible for Air India operated two flights from Bangalore in London (AI133) on May 16, 2025 and May 17, 2025, who both exceeded the 10 -hour flight time stipulated,” said DGCA in the opinion. The guard dog cited violations under the requirement of civil aviation (section 7, series J part III).

“It is also noted that the manager responsible for Air India Ltd has failed to guarantee compliance with the provisions and requirements of compliance …”, added the regulator.

The copy will be updated with the airline’s response, when received.

The DGCA gave the airline for seven days to explain why the implementing measures should not be initiated during the forfeiture.
