‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Says He’ll Always Choose Robyn Over His Kids
Sister Wives star Kody Brown made it clear that his loyalties lay with his wife Robyn Brownstating that he will always prioritize her over repairing his relationships with his ex-children.
On the January 12 episode of Sister Wives, Kody Brown addressed the growing divide between him and many of his 18 children, sharing that while his love for his children is unwavering, he refuses to give up on his relationship with his fourth wife Robyn Brown to reconnect family ties.
“My children will always be my children and the door will always be open to them. » Kody said. “They have to go through that door. And if they take those first steps, I’m going to extend my hand to them for that, but I’m going to hold this hand that’s next to me, and I’m not letting go of this hand.
Kody Brown made clear that its commitment to Robynwhom he married in 2010 and who is now his only remaining wife, is non-negotiable. “I won’t cut Robyn have a relationship with my children,” he emphasized.
Janelle weighs in on Kody’s family rift
Kody’s second wife, Janelle Brownoffered insight into the fractured family dynamic during the Dec. 1 episode. Responding to his decision to leave Kody from the guest list to their daughter Savanah’s graduation party, Janelle rejected the idea that at Robyn’s absence would Kody more welcome.
“Kody has this idea that one way or another, if he leaves Robyn at home, he will be able to come to these family gatherings,” Janelle explained. “And that’s so far from the truth.”
She added that Kody is separated from the vast majority of their children. “Kody is alienated from 90 to 95 percent of its children. He’s not really sought after at events. He won’t come, no matter who he brings with him or not.
Kodyhowever believes Robyn is the main source of tension. “I have a whole other side of the family that decided they were still a family and we moved on,” he said. “Now they’ll let me into this club as long as I leave Robyn behind. I can’t do this.
Kody reflects on his life with Robyn
Even if the tensions with his other children are still not resolved, Kody spoke about the dynamics within his family with Robyn and their five children: Dayton, 24, Aurora, 22, Breanna, 20, Solomon, 13, and Ariella, 9.
“It’s a really different world, the world I have with Robyn and our children, Kody admitted. “It’s nice, it’s pleasant, it’s beautiful. It’s small.
However, he admits that the reduced family dynamic has been an adjustment for him. “I think I need a lot of attention” Kody said. “It’s different being in a place where I don’t get as much attention.”
Christine and Janelle hope for reconciliation
Both Christina And Janelle Brown expressed the desire to Kody rebuild their relationships with their children. Christinawho shares six children with Kodysaid she hopes her children can reestablish their bond with their father.
“It’s devastating to see your children having problems with their father” Christina shared in an interview. “I would love for them to have a good relationship with him.”
She added: “I just tell them, ‘You have to accept him where he is and be open.’ Just be open when he calls, answer the phone.
Janelle echoed these sentiments, but noted that Kody’s refusal to resolve issues with their children ultimately caused her to leave. “The big spark for me was when his relationship with my kids broke down, and he didn’t seem willing to move heaven and earth to fix it,” Janelle revealed.
Meri reflects on communication issues in her marriage
In the meantime, Kody’s first wife, Meri Brunspoke candidly about their troubled relationship, saying Kody had long sent him contradictory messages.
“He made me believe he would work on things,” Meri said. “That’s what he’s been doing for many, many years.”
Kodyhowever, claimed that their marriage had been difficult from the start. “This marriage was in shambles the whole marriage,” he said. “I should have ended this relationship 25 years ago.”
