Jackman and Furness are reportedly heading for a “complicated” divorce following the breakdown of their 27-year marriage.
The exes announced in 2023 that they had “decided to separate to pursue their individual growth,” but the lack of a prenup in their marriage is proving to be a bone of contention.
According to the Daily Mail, The couple had delayed filing for divorce due to their decision to forgo signing a prenup, which is proving tricky as they try to share a fortune estimated at $250 million.
Sources, however, told the outlet that they plan to file in New York “within the next two weeks” and put this chapter behind them.

“One of the main reasons they haven’t filed yet is because they never had a prenup,” a source close to Jackman said. “When they got married, they thought it would be forever. Who doesn’t? At the time, neither of them expected Hugh’s career to become this huge.”
The source continued, “Since there was no prenup and he made his fortune during their marriage, this divorce is not going to be easy. It might even get complicated because the stakes are high.”
“A lot of details need to be worked out and it involves huge sums of money,” the source added.

The ex-couple would like to make their divorce “as simple as possible”. However, after almost three decades and one partner’s fame increasing astronomically, “it’s not that simple.”
Jackman and Furness met on the Australian television show “Correlli” in 1995 and married in Melbourne a year later.
They later adopted their two children, Oscar and Ava, before amassing enormous wealth thanks to the actor’s hit role as Wolverine and their thriving business empire.
According to the Daily Mailthe couple paid $21 million in 2008 for a three-story apartment in the Meier Towers building in New York’s West Village, then put it up for sale for $38.9 million in 2022. It’s unclear still not if the property was sold.

Their other real estate holdings include a $3.5 million, 2.5-acre property in East Hampton, New York, a $5.9 million Bondi beach house in Sydney, Australia, and a $21 million penthouse in Manhattan’s affluent Chelsea neighborhood that they bought a year before splitting.
“Hugh and Deborra-Lee are cordial to each other, but they are no longer friends,” the source explained, referring to the difficulty that splitting assets might have. “They put their differences aside and co-parent and he cares very much about his children.”

A source recently revealed that Furness felt “relieved” after seeing photos of Jackman and Foster cozying up after their dinner date in Santa Monica.
Furness was “plagued by suspicion” for months, with sources close to her confirming that her fears about Jackman’s relationship with Foster were justified.
