Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, with gains in , and sectors leading stocks higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the index rose 0.53%.

The best performers of the session were Champion Microelectronic Corp (TW:), which rose 10.00% or 5.00 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Meanwhile, New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:) added 9.91% or 1.60 points to end at 17.75 and Castle International Development Co Ltd (TW:) was up 9.89% or 3.05 points at 33.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Taiwan Taffeta Fabric Co Ltd (TW:), which fell 7.67% or 1.25 points to trade at 15.05 at the close. Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:) fell 6.89% or 17.50 points to end at 236.50 and Chungfu Tex-International Corp (TW:) was down 5.56% or 2.00 points at 34.00.

Declining stocks were 0-0 higher than rising stocks on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:) shares hit all-time high; up 9.91% or 1.60 to 17.75.

Crude oil for March delivery fell 0.08% or 0.06 to $77.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery fell 0.22% or 0.18 to $80.61 a barrel, while February gold futures rose by 0.02% or 0.46 to trade at $2,749.16 per troy ounce.

USD/TWD is down 0.44% at 32.78, while TWD/CNY is flat 0.27% at 0.22.

U.S. dollar index futures fell 0.21% to 108.97.
