Season 4 of a television show is not something that I write very often, since my goal is video games. But season 4 of Mythical quest is another matter.
Beginning with the first two episodes on January 29 on Apple TV +, the program brings back the working comedy on a video game studio. The casting of the ensemble returns with stars including Rob MCELHENNEY (as creative director Mercurial Ian Grimm) and Charlotte Nicdao (Poppy Li technological leader) and more. The show is good for distorting the sometimes ridiculous culture of the video game industry, and it is on the brand because it was originally created by Ubisoft.
The show is silly as usual, but I like the way one of the opening scenes concerns Play Pen, a content gadget generated by users aimed at restarting the studio’s online game. During the second episode, users are all busy making sex games and the studio must understand what to do on this subject. David asks for help from the studio’s ethics committee to find the answer. And, of course, AI is the next big trend that is asymmetrical in the show.
The Rachel game tester (played by Ashly Burch) has now been appointed chief of the studio monetization. She will find it difficult to be more evil than Brad Bakshi (played by Dani Pudi) to earn money.
The studio owner, David Brittlesbee (played by David Hornsby, executive producer) continues to be taken between studio officials and the head office. It is still too real with regard to references to silly things in the game industry. Under overview, I checked it.
The opening show, Boundaries, states the new responsibilities and limit lines drawn by the characters as their life changes. Ian and Poppy joined the studio after withdrawing alone. But Poppy, still the programming work executioner, no longer works so hard because it has a new boyfriend. It is interesting insofar as the spectacle recognizes the development problems of the real world game, as too many crunch, or long hours of work, often unpaid. So, of course, Poppy creates a version of AI of itself to work for it and help Ian with its shine in the middle of the night.
The season will have 10 episodes, the last falling on Apple TV + on March 26.
Mythical quest is executive produced by MCELHENNEY and Charlie Day under their RCG banner, Michael Rotenberg and Nicholas Frenkel in the name of 3arts, and Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill and Gérard Guillemot for Ubisoft Film & Television. Hornsby and Megan Ganz are also executive products. The series is produced for Apple TV + by Lionsgate, 3 Entertainment and Ubisoft arts. The first three seasons of Mythical quest are now in a world -scale difficulty on Apple TV +.
In the new season, the show also has an expansion of the Mythical quest universe, Secondary questWho explores the life of employees, players and fans who are affected by the game in an anthology format. If you need a CNN / Fox News rest all the time and our current political landscape, I recommend Mythical quest like a beautiful diversion.
