Science fiction on television has been dominated by Star Trek for decades. In the same way that people think of Star Wars when they think of space movies
There have been so many Star Trek shows that when the best lists of space series are made, Trek tends to dominate them and push other entries just as deserving but smaller, but the federation does not have the universe entire.
Most of the best space science fiction shows have nothing to do with Star Trek At all, and you may not know it much. It’s about to change. These are the best space shows that are not Star Trek.
9. Stargate universe
Stargate universe Was the attempt at Stargate’s franchise to jump into the narration of modern television. It was the first Stargate series with a linear signal story leading to a defined destination.

6. Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue
Legend of galactic heroes started as a series of 10 novels by the Japanese author Yoshiki Tanaka and has become one of the most influential and oldest space operas in Japanese history. It has been adapted to the animation several times, but the best version is the most recent version.
The current anime series is entirely titled Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue. It tells the story of competing galactic empires through the objective of two strategic geniuses, one in each nation, because they each rise in the military ranks, supported by their achievements.
Legend of the galactic heroéS is a complex mix of large -scale space battles, political maneuvers and personal relationships told about a series of decades. It is one of the biggest stories ever, so it is difficult to imagine that it is told in a form other than anime.
5. Orville

The extent is the closest that we could have seen really hard science fiction made live in a series format. It is based on a series of books (which deserve to be read) and take place in the near future where humans colonized Mars and other parts of the solar system.
On the surface, these are large questions that surface when the unknown collides with human politics. It was called Game of Thrones In space by some, and in certain ways, that is correct. The heart of the show is a small crew that becomes friends and was fighting during the disaster season after the season, without anyone on which to trust, except each other, aboard their little ship.

1. Battlestar Galactica
2004 Battlestar Galactica is a remake of a classic science fiction series from the 70s, but it is the Ronald D. Moore restarting creator who made this version what it is. What it is, it is the best science fiction series never produced. Or at least the best that is not Star Trek.
Ron Moore also helped make the best series of Star Trek, New deep spaceserving as a co-executive producer of the show. Basically, Ron Moore was always going to be at the top of this list, in one way or another.
Battlestar Galactica Works at all levels. As a series of adventure, it has the best special effects found in anything. It excels both a large and small scale, doing everything better than most films despite operation on a fraction of the budget.
As a narrative piece, it contains a deep and complex story with convincing characters and a closely constructed plot. It also works on a philosophical level, examining the nature of belief and the limits of the human mind.
Now 20 years old, Battlestar Galactica has become richer and more poignant over time. While at the beginning, the unusual choice of the show for the end of left fans in conflict, seeing him now perfect – as if it was always the only way for Galactica’s trip.
