An 18-year-old American student is in detention in Paris, suspected of having threw her newborn through a window on the third floor of a hotel, confirmed sources of prosecution on Monday.
The accusation sources indicated that the police had been called to the scene in the 20th district, in eastern Paris, early Monday morning. The newborn was transported urgently to the hospital with serious injuries, but did not survive.
The police protection unit was responsible for investigating a child’s homicide.
Paris Match magazine reported that the neighbors were awakened by cries at 6 am and called the emergency services.
The accusation sources confirmed that the 18 -year -old student had been taken to the hospital, where she was to undergo surgery linked to birth. She was placed in police custody there.
Sources of prosecution say they plan to know if it had been in the denial of her pregnancy.
The sources say that the young woman was part of the group of young adults traveling to Europe.
