Challenges that the Morbi ceramic industry faces is confronted
Despite its global success, Morbi’s ceramics industry has trouble lowering national and international demand. According to a Times of India report, manufacturers urge the government to reduce taxes on gas consumption, seeking a passage from VAT to TPS and in tax credit for inputs. The industry consumes almost 3 million cubic meters of gas daily, which makes energy costs a major concern.
Exports have also taken a hit due to anti -dumping tasks imposed by countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Taiwan, ranging from 50% to 106%. In addition, commercial restrictions on Iran have disrupted export routes to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, forcing manufacturers to take more expensive alternative shipping tracks.
Despite these challenges, the Morbi resilient business community continues to stimulate India’s reputation as a world leader in ceramics – prove that world -class success can emerge from small towns.
