In India, where the padayatras are an intrinsic element of the country’s civilizational heritage, a design of the richest family in the country has embarked on a marching pilgrimage which is refolutive in this very Indian way of seeking union with the divine.

Annant Ambani, 29, is on a Padayatra 170 kilometers from Jamnagar, his ancestral hometown and Karmabhoomi, in Dwarka, one of the most sacred cities in India. After starting on March 29, it covers about 20 kilometers a day, walking for about seven hours per night. He will reach Dwarka, a city that is engraved in the religious and spiritual tradition of India, April 8 – one day before his 30th anniversary.

Along the way, Ambani met an attitude of reverence and good will – some accompanied with him part of solidarity, others gave his photos of the presidential divinity Lord Dwarkadhish and others came with their horses to take their photos.

The Padayatra d’Ambani is also remarkable for the fact that the painful journey has been undertaken to overmile the debility caused by Cushing’s syndrome – a rare hormonal disorder – and morbid obesity, as well as asthma and a severe pulmonary disease.

Along this spiritual Padyatra, Annant sang Hanuman Chalisa, Sundarkand and Devi Stotra on the way to Dwaraka.

The younger son of Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries is a devout sanatani who carries his spiritual passion on his sleeve. Some of the most emblematic religious destinations in India are its regular caregivers and the beneficiaries of its munificence – Badrinath, Kedarnath, Kamakhya, Nathdwara, Kalighat and the Kumbh Mela, to nam only.

There is also a business to manage – it oversees the largest refinery in the world and directs the largest energy transformation projects in the country. And then there is the animal refuge of Vantara which he founded and which was inaugurated by no less than a person than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Ambani shows that he can walk in the footsteps of a holy spiritual tradition while creating the future in the business world
