Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou is looking forward to facing National League side Tamworth in the FA Cup this weekend.
Spurs move to the lowest-ranked team in the competition, with one of the biggest upsets in the competition’s history looming.
But even though he faces a much weaker opponent than the team they beat on Wednesday, Postecoglou admits he won’t be able to turn too much and is taking the FA Cup very seriously.
Speaking to the media, he said: “I still think it’s a really important competition. It includes just about every level of football and it always has some great storylines.
“There have already been such stories in the first rounds of the cup and we are meeting a team that has come through the first rounds.
“I continue to believe that the final day of the Cup is a flagship day in the world football calendar. I feel like it’s a really important tournament that maintains the right kind of traditions.
“Certainly in my eyes, I see it as a very important part of the calendar.”

“I have no doubt about the attitude of the players. All the boys understand perfectly that every match is important. We’re going into Sunday’s game with the same mindset: making sure we do the things we can control and focusing on the things we do really well.
“There are always challenges to overcome. I’m sure Tamworth will think it’s a great opportunity for them and we need to be ready for it.
Spurs go from one end of the football pyramid to the other in a matter of days.
During the week, they beat Liverpool 1–0 in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final, handing Arne Slot the first away defeat of the campaign.
Now they must adapt to a team that will be looking to create a memory that will last a lifetime by knocking out a Premier League giant.
Postecoglou added: “”These are not multi-millionaire actors. They are very understanding human beings. They are good people. Most of them come from places like this, some even worse.
“They will go out there and respect the fact that Tamworth are probably going to build it for the biggest game of their lives. And I’m sure they will do their best to create an atmosphere where they take pride in their field and their facilities.
“I don’t really think it’s a problem for us. What is important for us is to prepare for an important cup match.
