Ariana Grande Teases ‘Something’ New For Fans After ‘Wicked’

Golden Globe nominee Ariana Grande (aka Ariana Grande-Butera) is already teasing her next big project.

Hot on the heels of her star-making role in the big-screen adaptation of “Wicked,” the multi-faceted 31-year-old entertainer opens up about what fans can expect to see from her in the coming months. come.

Grande recently expressed her desire to remain active in the acting world following her performance in “Wicked” as the future Good Witch of Oz, Galinda/Glinda Upland.

While walking the red carpet at Sunday night’s Golden Globes, Grande fielded questions from reporters about potential new music plans.

“It’s not something I’m thinking about right now,” the singer admitted, “but, you know, there’s something I did last year that will come out eventually. is an attachment of “Eternal Sunshine”. So, it exists, and it will come out at some point.

While it’s not yet clear what that “attachment” might look like, Grande has previously spoken about her plans to extend the shelf life of “Eternal Sunshine” as much as possible.

Nonetheless, Grande would appear on stage with the main cast of “Wicked,” including Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum, to support director John Chu for his cinematic and box office victory.

In accepting the award, Chu gave a cry to the film’s “beautiful” cast and to his parents, who he said loved “The Wizard of Oz.”

With “Wicked” now available digitally, fans were treated to several deleted scenes from the musical drama, including one with Grande that some said should have been left intact.

In the clip, which went viral, Grande as Galinda Upland sits in an office with fellow student and close friend Elphaba Thropp (Erivo), the future Wicked Witch of the West, as they apparently prepare for a lesson with Madame Morrible (Yeoh). .

After Galinda tries and fails to levitate a coin, she questions Elphaba about leaving it behind on an excursion to free a caged lion cub with Fiyero, Galinda’s love interest (played by “Bridgerton” star Jonathan Bailey).

“I would have helped you,” Galinda says honestly. “If you needed anyone, it could have been me.”

The emotional confession causes Elphaba to look at her friend with newfound empathy and make a pact.

“I’m sorry. I made a mistake,” she told Galinda. “I won’t leave you behind again.”
