Arsenal “Lack something” to win trophies, explains manager Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners finished second behind Manchester City in each of the last two Premier League and Trail Liverpool seasons by six points with 15 games to play this time.
They are third in the Champions table, years is well placed to qualify directly at the last 16, but Arteta says that his team needs more to compete for major trophies.
He said El Mundo: “In this club, aspiring to win the headlines is not negotiable.
“With the stability that the team shows in terms of performance, in normal circumstances, we would have a great title in our hands, but the reality is that we have not done so.

“So we miss something and this is where we have to find this margin to be able to do what we all want, which is to do another step forward and win the headlines.”
Arteta has been in charge for five years and directed the Gunners towards a FA Cup victory in 2020.
This season, his team had a hard time converting chances and with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus injured, a new striker was at the top of the wishes list of each fan of Arsenal this month.
But Arteta said, “That all my players are healthy is the only thing on my wishes list.
“The club gave me the opportunity to see if it would help us make reinforcements and I think that, in each window, the team must try to improve, evolve, and the first thing we do is to look internally.
“Everything I can do better is a question of figures. We started the season with a very small number of players and, unfortunately, we have undergone many injuries, others very important, and if we can give oxygen to the team, perfect, and if not until until ‘Now we manage with what we have.
Arsenal faces Girona on Wednesday before welcoming Manchester City on Sunday.
