The week-long Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 speedrunning marathon wrapped up in the early hours of Sunday morning, and organizers say it managed to raise a total of $2,556,305 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
As expected, the Pittsburgh event brought a good mix of skill and silliness: there was a Crazy taxi speedrun with a live band; FunkopotamusWes played the piano during his series of New Super Mario Bros. Wiiusing his head and feet to control the game via motion controls; and Dr. Doot made a Ancient Ring speedrun bosses using an electric saxophone. Yes, the saxophone did little doot doot rings all the time.
The marathon ran continuously from January 5-12, so there are plenty of other great moments to catch up on if you missed it. Everything is on the Games Done Quick YouTube Channel.
AGDQ is one of many charity events hosted by Games Done Quick each year, and the next one, Back to black arrives in February. Spotlighting Black hosts and speedrunners, this event (February 6-9) will raise funds for the racial justice nonprofit, Race Forward. Over the years, Games Done Quick has raised more than $54 million for various charities, including the Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders. AGDQ raised approximately $2.5 million during his marathon last year too.
