I am back to be able to make longer rides as long as I do not increase the intensity. I think what was wrong that led to my recent sciatica escape is that I had combined long journeys with hard driving, including sprints and intervals on the same day. Now, I keep the rhythm “fast but comfortable” for longer rides, and I only make more intense rides on shorter journeys. So far, so good!

I went for more than three hours relatively easy last Saturday and yesterday and it was great. Yesterday was my tour of the group, we went around the Chesbro and Uvas tanks west of Morgan Hill. This involved stiff ascents, but I was able to control the effort with electrical assistance on my bed. Recently, I kept myself in shorter walks on my amount, but I think that my back is sufficiently recovered to go further on this bike as well.

It was cloudy and a little cold the first part of yesterday’s ride, but the sun came out when we took a break from the UVAS tank.
