On our years of testingWe’ve established a methodology that helps us evaluate and rate every piece of fitness equipment we test. We use this data to help us recommend the best equipment for each type of person. We judge fitness equipment based on the following criteria:
Features: We look at the types of features these pieces of equipment offer, how advanced or simple they are, and whether the machine can connect to built-in or third-party apps, smartwatches, and gadgets. A machine with good features should ideally have a built-in touchscreen and easily connect to Wi-Fi and compatible apps. No matter how sophisticated it is, it must be intuitive for the majority of users.
Software: Many of these machines have built-in programs, so we look at their ease of use and the difficulties we encounter when accessing them or connecting to compatible external devices.
Functionality : During testing, we determine whether the machine works as promised or is defective. Additionally, we observe how intuitive it is to use, whether it’s full-featured or minimalist. For example, we know that some users will want a simple machine, without any advanced technology, but the device should still work as promised. While the machine is more modern, it should still be easy to use by anyone, whether you’re a tech professional or someone less familiar with the latest innovations.
Assembly: We know people want to know how easy it is to assemble a workout machine and approximately how long it will take, so we take note. Fitness equipment tends to be heavy and, depending on the machine, moving it into your home and assembling it could be the job of two people. We also look at whether they have the option to choose white glove delivery and whether it is free or paid.
Guarantee: It is important to know the warranty information for your equipment in case you experience problems with it and require replacement. Since these are large purchases, you should feel confident knowing that you are getting a top quality product. In case something needs to be replaced, the replacement or refund window should be clearly stated. The length of a warranty varies depending on the type of machine you have, what falls under warranty, and what the manufacturer is willing to cover.
