Moving companies are difficult to revise. Since I could not realistically note each transport engine myself, I relied on the experiences of other customers. The most reliable source is the GSA form 3080that government employees fill in to assess the movers after having moved for work. These data is compiled in an all-in-one score for movers. According to my original list of more than 50 interstate movers, I cut who had a score lower than the average.
From there, I examined the file of each company with the Ministry of Transport. Did he use enough drivers to manage cross-country movements in a timely manner? How is his security file? I eliminated all companies with vehicle or driver inspection scores lower than average.
Then I tested what I could: the citation process. I completed online quote forms of 22 Movers and waited for my phone to explode. It should only take 10 minutes to get one quote by phone. I ate all the companies that put their sales arguments before my questions or immediately requested a significant deposit. The best moving companies will require a detailed inventory of articles that you move before providing a quote, and they will be able to explain their policies in a clear and simple language.
Finally, I unearthed criticism and complaints with the Better Business Office. It was less a global number – move is the type of industry where people generally leave opinions only when there is a problem – and more to find a model of complaints. I also gave preference to certified companies Promotion by the American Trucking Association. This means that they have passed an annual examination of their business practices, including their complaint history.
