What is old prophecies, extraterrestrial invasions and a whole cargo of martial arts action sequences have in common? Well, if you combine them, you get Jiu jitsu– such a bizarre and disjoined film that he only won $ 99,924 at the box office against his reported production budget of $ 25 million. Although I don’t suffer from amnesia as Jiu jitsu Protagonist, I always have the impression of having looked at the sun for too long, and each time I flash, I see these small floating orbs in color that cross my field of vision but apparently no purpose other than to confuse me with regard to their reason to exist.
Tirelessly punctuated at the expense of his own narration and crowded with so many CGIs, Jiu jitsu barely has a meaning. But for any reason, it is very fun to watch, and definitely falls into my mental rolodex as a film of “flashy trash” that I will probably come back at some point in the future when I need insane escape but that I do not really want to pay attention to what is at stake.
The invaders have arrived
Jiu jitsu Start with a blow, and we are presented to Jake Barnes (Alain Moussi), an American soldier who finds himself running for his life as a supernatural monster still to reveal. After falling from a cliff, Jake is rescued by a few fishermen, who refer him to what they assume to be the military base to which he belongs. Along the way, Jake has become familiar with Keung (Tony Jaa) and Harrington (Frank Grillo), two ambassadors of the Jiu Jitsu who recognize Jake as one of their own despite the fact that Jake does not remember the events leading to his current situation. After being captured by the American army again, Jake has a race with the chief of the stranger Invasion, Brax (Ryan Tarran), who effortlessly fights the soldiers, compromising his position in the mission, he has no idea how to achieve because he … always has amnesia.
Nicolas Cage is an eccentric voice of reason
After meeting a veteran of the jiu jitsu living in the caves named Wylie (Nicolas cage), Jake is said to be all he needs to know, which in turn indicates everything he should know because God knows that we all need an intensive course at this stage of the film. Wylie, who is a cross between a sage -shaped truth researcher and a bandana with a Vietnam veteran (think of Lieutenant Dan Forrest Gump But not as depressing), explains the role of Jake in the fight against the extraterrestrial invasion with the rest of the soldiers of the Jiu Jitsu, then there is a pile of CGI action and portals and things that brought everything home after Jake learned what he really has to do.
Jiu jitsu steam on Tubi
Jiu jitsu is an interesting watch because his combat sequences are sometimes impressive – especially Jake, who ignores his own martial arts talents but finds himself kicking whenever the occasion arises. However, when we have an overview of the real invaders, everything on this film collapses – the action sequences included – due to their stupidity.
I am not personally spent on the CGI for this film, but I have reason to believe that the production could have saved a ton of money so brax and the company were just ordinary humans with a brilliant halo around them to indicate their extraterrestrial origin instead of what we get, who are strange to believe futurists with an idiotic threat that moves if not.
Never fun to watch, even if you laugh at your expense, Jiu jitsu is an absolute mess, but its campsite makes it work to a certain extent according to your mood.
If you are looking to be blown away by an exciting science fiction Martial arts film in which the fate of humanity depends on some former land soldiers who know all the secrets of the universe, you will be seriously disappointed. But if you just want to look at a bunch of characters go from A to B, while in a way in loop in the rest of the whole alphabet without really going anywhere, so Jiu jitsu is the perfect film to watch on Tubi while you work on another more fulfilling project while occasionally looking for an old Jiu jitsu extraterrestrial action.
