Barcelona returned to the Laliga summit with a 4-0 victory against Real Sociedad.

A clinical performance of the hosts, helped by a first red card for the captain of the Sociedad Aritz Elustondo, saw them continue their efforts for the title of the League.

Real Sociedad thought they had a dream start when they found the net just four minutes, with the reduction of Ander Barretxa leading to the deviated finish of Jon Gomez. However, the objective was quickly excluded due to a marginal offside by Jon Lopez in the accumulation, foreshadowing a frustrating afternoon for visitors.

Things took a drastic turn in the 17th minute when the captain of Sociedad Elulustondo was shown a right red card. The defender dropped Dani Olmo, who ran for the goal, leaving the referee Alejandro Quintero Gonzalez without choice than sending him. From that moment, the game took a predictable model, Barcelona affirming a complete control.

The breakthrough arrived eight minutes after the red card. A dazzling movement of Lamine Yamal saw the teenager Bamboozle Lopez before installing Olmo inside the box.

The Spaniard delivered a perfectly floated pass on the back left Gerard Martin, who voted at home his first senior goal in a breathtaking way to give Barcelona a well -deserved lead.

The valves threatened to open and the second goal occurred in the 29th minute. The corner of Pedri was struck by the goalkeeper of the Sociedad, Alex Remiro, but the ball fell on Olmo, whose powerful strike took a lucky deflection of Marc Casado before nesting in the lower corner.

With a two -purpose cushion and a digital advantage, Barcelona continued to dominate after the break. Sociedad, who is already having trouble keeping the pace, withdrew more deeply in their defensive form but could not hold against the relentless attack of Blaugrana.

The third of Barcelona arrived in the 56th minute, gracity of Ronald Araujo. A corner of Yamal found Robert Lewandowski, whose head was instinctively saved by Remino. However, the rebound fell with kindness for Araujo, who hosted his first goal from Laliga of the season, ironically against the same side that he scored for the last time in November 2023.

Four minutes later, Lewandowski added his name to the match sheet to make it 4-0. Araujo transformed the supplier this time, dragging a low blow on the goal, which the Polish striker instinctively redirected the remiro past. The goal scored its 21st Laliga campaign and underlined Barcelona’s cream in front of the goal.

The victory extends the home domination of Barcelona over Real Sociedad, after winning 26 of their last 27 home meetings in Laliga. More importantly, this propels them to the top of the league table as they continue their title challenge.
