The American prosecutor Pam Bondi seeks to reverse Last hour switch For the murderers of the death corridor last month by former president Joe Biden, ordering the state officials to continue the death penalty against the detainees.
Wednesday, Bondi, which was confirmed on Wednesday, sent a letter to switches to employees of the Ministry of Justice (DOJ), Accuse Biden to “undermine[ing] Our judicial system and subvert[ing] The rule of law “by granting switches.
“The switches also stole the families of the victims of the promised justice – and fought to reach – by the Ministry of Justice,” Bondi wrote. “The Ministry of Justice is responsible for immediately starting the following actions to achieve justice for the families of the victims of the 37 murderers.”
Bondi said that the DoJ will first “explore the opportunities to provide a public forum to the families of the victims to express how the switches affected them personally,” calling it an “important step” in the construction of confidence and obtaining responsibility.
Then Bondi said that she would order the American lawyers to prosecute death sentences against the commissioned detainees using state law rather than federal law. She said that this stage would take place “after consultation with the families of the victims and the other interested parties” and only “if necessary and legally authorized”.
“The section of capital cases helps the offices of the United States prosecutor in the implementation of this directive,” said Bondi’s letter.
Trump’s ultimatum to federal workers: return to their “or be dismissed” functions
“Third, the Federal Bureau of Prisons is responsible for ensuring that the confinement conditions for each of the 37 commissioned murderers are in accordance with the security risks that present the prisoners because of their flagrant crimes, criminal stories and all the others relevant considerations “, it added.
In a decision at the end of December, Biden deleted 37 prisoners of the corridor of federal death and reclassified their sentence for life without the possibility of parole.
At the time, the White House said that this decision would prevent the elected president Donald Trump Administration of “carrying out the execution sentences which would not be transmitted under current policy and practice”.
“The president’s criminal justice file has transformed individual life and positively involved communities, in particular historically marginalized communities,” said the White House statement at the time. “In the coming weeks, the president will take additional measures to provide significant second chances and continue to review additional pardons and switching.”
Biden left only three mass murderers in the death corridor: Charleston, Southern Caroline, the shooter of the Church Dylann Roof; Boston Marathon Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev; And Robert Bowers, the shooter responsible for the shooting of the Synagogue Tree of Life of Pittsburgh in 2018.
Bondi, former prosecutor and attorney general of the state of Florida, previously declared that his main objective as an act was to eliminate the political influence and the armament of the Doj.
“America will have a level of justice for everyone,” she said at the time.
