A California Was sentenced Friday to seven years in prison after being arrested for weapons and found with bibles filled with heroin addressed to prisoners in state prisons.

Lucrusia Stone-Rojas, 46, was initially arrested on November 12, 2023, after a license plate reader identified a stolen Porsche in El Cajon. During a traffic stop, the authorities found a handgun and Walther ammunition charged with 9 mm, said the Ministry of Justice.

Because she already has Crime convictionsStone-Rojas was charged by the federal government of illegal possession of a firearm. She was not accused for the stolen vehicle.

On December 27, 2023, she was again arrested when federal investigators found packages and envelopes addressed to the detainees of a California state prison.

Research revealed two bibles containing 23 grams of heroin, the authorities said.

“The smuggling of drugs in our prisons endangers prisoners and correctional staff. It will not be tolerated,” said US prosecutor Andrew Haden. “I hope that this case will serve as a warning to anyone who would be willing to mistreat the tools of faith and rehabilitation to perpetuate dependence and despair.”
