The Minister of Canada of International Development, Ahmed Hussen, unveiled $ 272.1 million in new funds on Sunday for foreign assistance projects Bangladesh and the Indo-Pacific Region.

“Canada continues to fiercely strengthen our lasting friendship with Bangladesh and the Indo-Pacific Region in the broad sense with our long-standing ties to the person,” Hussen said in a statement. “By supporting the health services of vulnerable communities, empowering women and approaching climate change, we create a more bright tomorrow for the world community.”

The money, which will be spent alongside contributions from other foreign partners and donors, will provide new funding for 14 different projects in Bangladesh and other countries in the Indo-Pacific Region.

The decision of the Federal Liberal Government highlights a radically different Canadian approach from foreign development aid compared to the government of the American Republican President Donald Trump, who interrupted funding through the USAID USAID (USAID) Agency.

Trump and his new TSAR of government efficiency, the businessman Elon Musk, froze foreign aid in the United States for 90 days after taking power, closing the world’s assistance programs and triggering the content of thousands of employees within the government and among his entrepreneurs.
