In an ardent Reddit article entitled “Why living in Bengaluru has become irritable recently”, the user ‘normal_xcuse_6303’ detailed his disillusionment with the life in the capital of Karnataka. Born and raised in the Basvangudi region before moving to RR Nagar three years ago, he recalled a “big city” which now seems buried under dust, overwhelmed by traffic and losing his sense of community.

“Small context about me, I was born and I grew up in the region of Banglore Basvangudi, recently (3 years back) moved to RR Nagar”, wrote “Normal_Excuse_6303”. Citing daily trips to his office near Mg Road, he deplored increasingly heavy trips and growing pollution: “I felt much more pollution, especially dust everywhere … bikes and cars accumulate dust like crazy.”

His frustration is deepened during the description of a perceived decline of civic sense: “Civic sense and the discipline of the global population seem to decrease. Clearly obvious in any activity you do, especially during travel. ” The user has also criticized the growing problem of the city’s garbage: “So many trails treated like discharges … All nearby tourist places are spoiled with plastic or alcohol bottles.”

Congestioned crowds and public transport have added new tensions. “I tried to travel by Metro at an office … There is barely space to stand up,” he wrote, describing how even the journeys early in the morning and the middle of the afternoon did not manage to avoid packaged trains. “Overall, start not to like this other city,” concluded “normal_xcuse_6303”.

Other Redditors have jumped with similar experiences. A user noted: “Not only Bengaluru, many metropolitan cities and non -metro, have a similar problem, but people are not important for plant trees, but this is the main cause.” Another user, who left the city in 2014, said he returned in 2025 to find him “so densely populated … It is difficult to go inside [the metro]. “”

Echoing the feeling, a third comment said: “Absolutely relatable! The Garden City is no longer what it was … now it is an urban sprawl where the infinite of apartments and commercial buildings are built. ”
