Cowboys’ Brandon Aubrey apologizes after kickoff goes awry, drills cheerleader in head

A Dallas Cowboys The cheerleader shared the apology she received from kicker Brandon Aubrey after he pierced the back of her head with a football during the first half of Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders.

Michelle Siemienowski was standing on the sideline when Aubrey’s kick went out of bounds near the 10-yard line at AT&T Stadium.

Despite a cameraman’s attempts to deflect the ball, he hit Siemienowski in the back of the head, knocking her down.

She quickly stood up while her teammates watched her. The show caught Siemienowski smiling after the incident.

She took to social media Monday to say she was “fine” and to thank everyone for checking in. She also shared with fans a note Aubrey wrote to her apologizing.

“The last 24 hours have been a whirlwind! I’ve received a ton of messages and wanted to thank you all for stopping by and for your kind words. I’m fine, so no need to worry,” he said. she wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories.

“Also… Thanks [Aubrey] for this apology note! I was told that he wanted to come and meet me on the pitch after the incident, but unfortunately I continued to move around on the pitch. He was still kind enough to write me a note! No hard feelings here! And now I have a souvenir for my last match of my rookie season!”

Aubrey’s note read: “Michelle, I’m so sorry for hitting you (kickoff)! I hope you’re doing well! I love watching you!”

Despite Sunday’s defeat against the commanders and the kickoff mishap, Aubrey set a record with 40 field goals this season to become only the fifth kicker in NFL history with at least 40 field goals.
