Curtis Jones says Eden Hazard was a better player than his Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.

Comparisons are often drawn between Hazard and Salah given their similar, diminutive stature and the general brilliance both have brought to the Premier League.

And although Jones grew up watching Hazard and remains a huge fan, he says he would prefer to have Salah in his side.

The Liverpudlian told TNT Sports ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League clash with Lille at Anfield: “I know he [Hazard] is compared to Mo all the time. I was in it with Mo.

“As a player I’ve seen since [being] As a child, I loved the game, I studied the game, and I wanted to be like a gamer. I have the impression that Hazard was the one. Every game I watched I was like wow…this is football.

Jones added: “As a footballer, is he better than Mo? In my opinion yes. But who would you rather have on your team? You will say Mo because he brings you the goals and assists.

Jones’ verdict caused a stir on social media, prompting Jones to reiterate his views on who he would rather play with.

Salah has been instrumental in Liverpool’s rise to the top of the Premier League table with 18 goals and 13 assists this season.
