Everton’s manager David Moyes says he is proud before managing his 700th Premier League match.
Now in his second fate as a boss of Everton, Moyes also led teams such as West Ham, Manchester United and Sunderland in the high flight of England during a successful career.
He will join an elite group of managers for having achieved this feat, alongside Arsene Wenger (828 games with Arsenal) and Sir Alex Ferguson (810 games with Manchester United).
“It’s really incredible,” said Moyes. “When you start, I don’t think you never believe that you will become a Premier League manager, but get 700 games behind me is a fair achievement.
“I am very happy. There are two big managers in front of me in Arsène and Alex. I don’t think I will make their figures, that’s for sure.
The shock of the Premier League this weekend between Everton and Brighton will see Moyes, the oldest league manager at 61, will face Fabian Hurzeler in Brighton, the youngest at 31.

The opportunity marks a reversal of roles for Moyes, who was the youngest manager of the Premier League when he took care of Everton in 2002.
At the time, the late Sir Bobby Robson, 30 years of his senior, was the oldest in the league.
“I remember that Sir Bobby gave me a few wise words,” added Moyes. “It’s incredible to see how things have changed, and I was lucky to have opportunities in big clubs.”
The recent victory of Everton 3-2 against Tottenham gave Moyes his first victory since his return to Goodison Park and raised the four-point club from the relegation.
However, midfielder Dwight McNeil is expected to undergo a knee operation, putting the touch after missing the last seven games.
“He [McNeil] will probably have to undergo surgery on knees, ”confirmed Moyes. “It’s a real blow because we need him for the sets, the deliveries and his general game.”
