Luis de la Fuente was rewarded for guiding Spain towards the success of Euro 2024 with a two -year contract extension.

The previous 63 -year agreement was to expire after the 2026 World Cup, but it is now linked to the Spanish Football Association (RFEF) until the end of Euro 2028.

Fuente did a remarkable job with little fanfare after having succeeded in Luis Enrique in the role after the release of Spain in 16 years at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Having worked for the RFEF in various team roles for young people for nine years, the Fuente has accessed the best job and has given an almost instant success, opting for a more balanced team approach and eliminating certain big names.

He also put great faith in young people with wingers Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams to their success in Germany last summer.

Spain’s next matches occur in March when they face the Netherlands in a quarter-final of the League of Nations on two legs.
