Sharing my 10 best Disney cruising advice and advice if it’s your first cruise!

So here is Disney Cruise # 6 for a reason; The whole family lets go. TBH, I have always been a bit Meh about the idea of cruising. Something about a bunch of festive college students on spring holidays and casino vibrations did not look like an ideal family vacation, especially when the girls were very young. I am also a little frightened by being in the ocean.
Our friends told us how Disney they liked, especially because of cleanliness, food and entertainment, so we decided to try it. Needless to say, we have been blown away and have made at least one Disney cruise per year since then.
Now that we have some experience to our credit, I am confident by sharing advice that has been useful to us as beginners, or that we have learned along the way. I feel like I could write an entire series at this stage, but here are my best tips!
Pack a separate pool bag with a change of clothes when you register.
They take your luggage upon arrival, and it appears magic in your room in a few hours. In the meantime, take your pool bag with you and head to the swimming pool! It is the least crowded that it will be all the trip, and all the relaxed swimming pool dishes are also open. It’s so fun to watch the children make the slide and spend time in the pool while enjoying a buffet lunch or a tacos + drink of the day.
Order your coffee the day before
If you like to have a coffee in the morning, order it by the room service at night. He arrives in a carafe and stays warm overnight. They also have a small refrigerator where you can store creamers. The room service is included – you just have to tip. I will usually provide money for bedroom service advice.
Restoration rotation
Each ship has around three main restaurants and you will turn every night. You will be attributed to the early dining room (usually 5:45) or late catering (8:15) and you will have the same server and assistant each evening. If you do not dine in the main restaurants, there is a Broadway-Commer the quality you can attend during the opposite time (for example, the last guests attend at the start of the show, then head for dinner). Or, you can jump the show, jump the main dining room, order a bedroom service or take a quick bite and run the swimming pool to watch a film and swim. When I told them that I was gluten -free (something I avoid for health reasons, not an allergy), they had gluten -free breads that were waiting for me every night.
Room service secrets
With the number of cruises we have made, I have never seen an official service menu in the room. I know they have things like mickey ice cream bars, milk and cookies, cheese macaroni, pizzas, chicken offers, etc. I called and asked for a salmon salad once and the attendant lasted. But there are a few secrets: they have a cake or a pie of the day (ask them which flavor is available) and cheese boards (you can ask for gluten-free crackers).
The application is your friend
The Disney Cruise application is actually quite incredible. You can follow all your plans and excursions, send messages to friends and family members via the application, and consult the Daily Navigator, which has the calendar and the place of the activities of the day. They have so many things that happen on the ship every day: films, greetings of characters, dancing evenings, anecdotes, karaoke, bingo, towel folding lessons, etc. You can also book additional things such as wine tasting, whiskey tasting, spa services and adult meals.
Bring a pop-up basket And take a few clothespms with you

I always do a laundy on the last day on the ship. It is much less depressing to bring home a suitcase full of clean clothes than dirty clothes. The laundry room is incredible (especially on the wish; it is huge) and the application will alert you when it is time to exchange your machine.
Decorate your door
I did not know how big it was, but so many families decorate their doors. It’s super fun to customize them. Etsy has a lot of big magnets And although you don’t have to go to the top (some families do it completely, and I love to see it), children appreciate it.
Get a popcorn bucket if you like popcorn
We buy a bucket of popcorn on the first day (it’s about $ 13) and even if you are on the ship, you can fill your popcorn for about $ 3.00. Children love to bring it to shows with us and Disney Popcorn is just a +++++.
Tips / gratifications for a Disney cruise
The only time you have to tip during the cruise is when you order a chamber service and at the end of the cruise. During the last full day, they provide few envelopes for your server, assistant server, Stateroom host, etc. The amount he considers for each person who has helped during your stay varies depends on the number of people in your group. The exact amount has changed, but for us, it is generally a total of a few hundred dollars for everyone, which is billed on your account at the end of your trip.
If you want to tip an additional amount, you can place the small shift which has the total calculated amount of Disney + any money you want to add to the small envelope and deliver it personally. You can also ask customer services to add to your advice for you. I find that our servers and our cabin hosts generally go beyond.
Book a reserved space for a future cruise 🙂
When you are on the ship and the application, you can reserve a reserved space to use to a future cruise for $ 250. This will save you 10% on an upcoming cruise and the $ 250 is considered a deposit for the cost, which can be a fairly soft matter. You can reserve two spaces reserved per account.
