We first checked Displace TV back at CES 2023 and were quite impressed with the company’s 55-inch 4K OLED display: it was wireless, had hot-swappable batteries, and you could stick it to any smooth surface thanks to its proprietary vacuum-loop technology active. Unfortunately, what we saw was only a prototype and only 100 units were planned for production. For CES 2025Displace TV is back with a retail version of its stick-on wireless 4K TV, and has also revealed a wireless soundbar and speakers.
There are some changes from the first versions we saw two years ago. For one, the rechargeable batteries are no longer exchangeable and now, in addition to the suction cup technology, there are removable, hidden feet for placing the screen on a surface.
Displace produces two models, the Basic and the Pro. Each has the same operating system, the company’s own AI-powered Displace operating system. They both feature 4K OLED displays, with the option of 27- or 55-inch screen sizes. The Pro model comes with a more powerful 8-core Intel N-300 processor, 32GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a larger 10,000mAh battery. For comparison, the Basic model uses a 4-core Intel N-100 processor, has 16GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a smaller 5,000mAh battery. The Pro also includes Displace’s new soundbar and speakers that not only deliver better sound, but also increase battery life by 150 hours. (Without the added boost of speakers, you’ll be able to watch between 40 and 60 hours of TV before needing to recharge.)
To control everything, Displace has created a multi-touch control device that also contains its own screen. This is a new addition to what we saw in 2023, as these TVs were controlled only by gestures. Gesture control is still present on new TVs but only works for basic functions like pause and play. Any other input will require touching the remote control.
Another change since 2023 is the price. Displace was targeting a substantial price of $3,000 for the 55-inch model in 2023. That price is now $2,500 for the base 27-inch model and $3,500 for the 55-inch. If you want the Pro version, those cost $4,000 and $6,000 respectively for the same two sizes.
If you’re tempted, you might like to know that right now, Displace will be offering pre-order customers $1,000 off any of the bundles, but only during CES. The show officially ends on January 10, so you don’t have long to decide if a wireless suction TV should be part of your life. The units are expected to ship by the end of March this year.
