The fan is watching you and doing its best to keep you cool. HAS CES 2025I stood still as a fan in the room detected my presence and swiveled to focus on me. It was a welcome relief, especially in a stuffy living room.

Dreo’s motion-sensing fan, the PolyFan 707S, can know when someone is in the room and even detect multiple people. I watched the motion bar as its lights changed from green to red, indicating where me and Representative Dreo were in its field of vision. When she pulled away, the fan focused only on me.

The fan uses millimeter wave radar to track a room’s occupants and adjust its direction. With a viewing and swing range of 150 degrees, it can cover almost the entire room when placed in a corner.

Plus, aside from motion detection, the PolyFan 707S is also smarter than your average fan in other ways. It connects to the Dreo app, allowing you to control it from anywhere. It is also compatible with Google Home, Apple HomeKit And Alexa. Pricing isn’t available yet, but a Dreo representative told me to expect it to cost between $150 and $200 when it launches in May 2025.

A tower fan that also heats

I looked like a different Dreo tower fan transformed into a radiator then again into a fan. The secret lies in a mechanical heater that slides into the front of the fan component of Dreo’s MC706 2-in-1 Tower Fan and Heater. It moves like a large, slow, bulky machine, reminiscent of the retractable door of Jabba the Hutt’s palace in Star Wars.

The fan quickly switches from blowing cool air (although it’s not an air conditioner, just a fan) to blowing warm air. Dreo says he can make this change in just a few seconds. The heater has an output of 1500W and has overheat protection and tip-over detection, as you would want from any heater.

It is equipped with a thermostat that allows you to set the temperature between 41 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and also includes a remote control for added convenience.

The MC706 is already on salewith an MSRP of $170.

A small radiator for the whole room

If you’re looking for a more affordable heater that can warm an entire room while sitting on a table or desk, I’ve taken one last look at another upcoming Dreo product that fits the bill. It’s a circulating heater — SH615 — and it should cost about $100, a rep told me.

As a circulation heater, it functions as a compact fan with a built-in heating element. Instead of just swinging back and forth, it uses 3D rotation to distribute warm air around the room at different angles. Its small size makes it ideal for placing on a desk or table, where it can provide constant, soothing warmth.
