The president of the European Commission, Ursula, von der Leyen European Union is “ready to negotiate” with President Donald Trump on prices, noting that “we have offered zero prices for zero for industrial goods”.
Speaking on Monday in Brussels, the head of the EU executive branch called Trump’s economic policy A “major turning point for the United States”.
“These prices come above all to immense costs for American consumers and businesses, but at the same time, they have a massive impact on the world economy. In particular developing countries,” she said.
“Nevertheless, we are ready to negotiate with the United States. Indeed, we have offered zero-zero prices for industrial goods, as we have done with many other business partners, because Europe is still ready for a good deal. We therefore keep it on the table,” she added.

Von der Leyen also declared “in parallel, we prepare a potential list for reprisals and other reprisals if necessary” and that “we prefer to have a negotiated solution”.
“We are going to create a working group on importing of imports. We will work with industry to ensure that we have this basis of evidence necessary for our political measures,” she also said. “And we will stay in very narrow contact to minimize the effects of our actions on each other.”
