Liverpool and Arsenal are also monitoring the situation of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush as Manchester City work on a potential €80 million deal.

Sources said Caught Offside that City negotiates for Marmoush and there is some confidence the deal will be completed, although the high asking price and Eintracht’s reluctance to sell poses a stumbling block.

This means that Liverpool and Arsenal have also kept tabs on what is happening with the Egypt international, although City appear to be his most likely next destination at the time of writing.

Marmoush has shone in the Bundesliga and it looks like he could be worth spending big money on, with the 25-year-old surely more than enough to play for many of the world’s biggest clubs.

Arsenal arguably need an attacking signing like this more than anyone, so their interest isn’t too surprising, even if a deal now seems unlikely for them.

What other transfers might be worth watching for this January?

Caught Offside It appears Arsenal also have Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic on their list of targets, which could yet be a story to watch out for in January.

Vlahovic seems unlikely to sign a new contract at Juve, which could open the door for a move to the Emirates Stadium, although this may also depend on the availability of other players.

Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha have also been mentioned as long-term Arsenal targets, but they could be more likely this summer.

Liverpool, meanwhile, appear willing to let Darwin Nunez leave for the right price, which could explain their interest in Marmoush.

It appears, however, that nothing is imminent regarding Nunez’s departure from Anfield, so that may have to wait until the summer, when the Reds will likely have to look for alternatives.
