Former Chelsea manager returns to football with PFA role

Graham Potter may be the favorite to take over at West Ham in the Premier League, but the former Chelsea and Brighton manager has a new role in football.

Potter, 49, has been out of action since leaving his post at Stamford Bridge in April 2023.

He has we would have asked to replace Julen Lopetegui at the Hammers, but announced a new and different role on Tuesday morning.

Potter became course co-director for the Certificate in Football Psychology run by the Professional Footballers’ Association.

The course helps students develop leadership skills and is a specialist course for coaches and managers.

“Education has helped me become a better person and a better player,” Potter said.

“It’s very exciting that the PFA is doing this and providing opportunities for improvement, I’m happy to support this. It is an investment in the present and the future. My degree was a foundation for me in my career in management.

Potter made his name as manager of Swedish club Ostersund before spells at Swansea, Brighton and Chelsea.
