HP unveils a range of AI desktops and laptops at AMD/Intel events at CES

HP announced a number of new AI and gaming computers at the Advanced Micro Devices and Intel press events at CES 2025 Today.

It’s another sign that AI is becoming ubiquitous in computing and PC AI is one of the top performing product lines at the big Las Vegas tech show this week. HP is once again play the field with a wide variety of machines in many categories.

AI-powered laptop

HP EliteBook Ultra G1i 14-inch Laptop with Next-Gen AI.

On the AI ​​PC side, HP unveiled the HP EliteBook Ultra G1i next-generation AI laptop.

The machine has a slim profile and a next-generation AI processor capable of 48 TOPS (an AI performance indicator). HP said it’s setting the standard for clarity during video calls with the Poly Cam Pro’s AI features and a new 9MP camera. You’ll be able to make your voice heard and hear others easily with two studio-quality microphones and four speakers.

It also has a haptic touchpad that provides customizable tactile feedback. You can use different pressure levels to control features and gestures to automate actions on a 100% clickable surface.

The device features the latest generation of Intel Core Ultra processors specifically designed for AI software. It has three compute engines to handle AI workloads, improve video conferencing, and enable advanced content creation. It uses Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 processors with NPU.

The weight of the laptop starts at 2.63 pounds and features a 14-inch 2888 x 1800 UWVA non-touch display. It uses Intel integrated graphics and has up to 16 GB or 32 GB of LPDDRX main memory . It offers storage options up to 1TB or 2TB and runs on 65 watts of power.

HP also offers a series of other AI laptops aimed at business customers. They include the next-generation AI PC for the HP EliteBook Ultra G1i 14-inch laptop, the X Flip G1i, and the X G1i.

A mini AI workstation

HP Z2 Mini G1a Workstation Desktop Computer

Among the announcements is the HP Z2 Mini G1a Workstation Desktop PC, which is a mini-sized workstation that HP says will deliver transformative AI performance.

This is an AI PC that can be used simultaneously to perform 3D design and render graphics-intensive projects or work locally on LLMs. It has an AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro processor, announced by AMD at the show. It has up to 16 CPU cores, 128 GB of unified memory, and the ability to assign up to 96 GB of RAM to the GPU. It can handle AI-enhanced or graphics-intensive projects locally. About five of these units can fit in a 4U rack.

You can get up to 50 local TOPS on the NPU. The Z2 also contains 60% recycled plastics, 20% recycled steel, 100% sustainably sourced outer packaging and is EPEAT Gold Climate+ certified.

HP ZBook Ultra 14-inch G1a Mobile Workstation.

Another interesting laptop is the HP ZBook Ultra 14-inch G1a Mobile Workstation PC.

This one is slim, battery efficient, and features a recently announced AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro processor with 16 desktop-class CPU cores, discrete-type integrated graphics, and 128GB of unified memory. This machine can also allocate up to 96 GB of RAM to the GPU and achieve 50 TOPS with its NPU.

HP 720 Multi-Device Rechargeable Wireless Keyboard and Mouse

On the peripherals front, HP revealed the HP 400 Silent Wireless Mouse, the Poly Voyager Legend series, and the HP 720 Multi-Device Rechargeable Wireless Keyboard and Mouse.

On the desktop side, HP unveiled the HP OmniDesk Desktops (with Intel and AMD processors) and the HP OmniStudio X Next-Gen AI PC. The latter is a 27-inch all-in-one AI desktop PC with Intel processors.
